Oh, hello! I'm a Chicago editorial photographer who loves plastic toy cameras, movies, kittens, and telling true stories.
Some background: I'm a May 2011 photojournalism graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, and have held internships at The Columbus Dispatch, The Dallas Morning News and the Peoria Journal Star. If I'm not at a newspaper, I love taking photos for movies, and several films I've worked on have debuted at major film festivals.
I'm also the creator and a writer for the popular humor blog, Sh*t Photojournalists Like. Obviously, if you love something, you should make fun of it, right? I've been interviewed by Wired and the Chicago Tribune about my blog and life as a young photographer.
If you're interested, send me an email! I'd love to meet you and talk about film, viral internet cat videos, or maybe even take some photos if you feel so inclined.
I've been published by the AP, the Chicago Tribune, The Columbus Dispatch, The Dallas Morning News, Magnolia Films, Lionsgate, The New York Times, the Sundance Film Festival, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Toronto International Film Festival, The Wall Street Journal and several other publications.
